Chubu Electric Power of Japan signed an agreement to buy LNG from Qatargas for 15 years, according to Reuters.
The agreement will take effect from 2013 and it will help secure steady supply of electricity to the country that highly relies on Chubu?s gas-fired power plants.
Chubu Electric has agreed to purchase one million tonnes of LNG per annum during the period 2013 ? 2017, reports Reuters, adding that 700,000 tonnes per annum will be purchased in the period of 2018 ? 2028.
